Time and Tide
Having lived in Dublin for nearly 25 years now, I still find myself at times looking at this city with the tourist's view.
For my exhibition titled 'Viewfinder' I have mixed etching with photo etching and embossing in the search for new methods to 'read the city'. I have placed iconic city structures onto a variety of maps, often referencing their genesis, occasionally using a pars pro toto approach. My work is often about contact with architecture and the memory these structures hold. The tactile nature of the work is a comment on the craftsmanship and architecture of generations past.
In this latest series I concentrate on views of the River Anna Livia, better known as the River Liffey
